In August of 2016, prolonged rainfall caused what some referred to as 'a thousand year flood,' devastating a region in Southeast Louisiana. 13 lives were lost, and many of those who survived lost their homes, businesses, and belongings. To most, the flood came as a shock, as the area they inhabited was thought to be in a 'flood-safe' zone. 'Above Below Sea Level' explores the relationship between humans and nature, and paints a portrait of a community as its people attempt to recover from tragedy.
